RSK and ENSR form independent operations

December 19

After five years of collaboration, ENSR, an AECOM company and leading global environmental services provider, and RSK have agreed to operate independently effective from December 19, 2006. Both companies will provide environmental services in the United Kingdom and European market individually, and envision a seamless transition for clients. ENSR and RSK will work together to complete existing client projects and plan to utilize each other’s services in subcontracting roles on selected future projects.

ENSR will continue to provide uninterrupted services in the United Kingdom, and will be headquartered in a new London office shared with AECOM sister companies Faber Maunsell and EDAW. Faber Maunsell, with 30 UK offices and 650 staff in its environmental consultancy, is ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified.

Operating in the UK since 1997, ENSR has 200 environmental staff in five European offices. According to Robert C. Weber, ENSR CEO, “ENSR and RSK have successfully served our clients since we began joint business operations in 2001. However, our plan for strategic growth, seamless client service and employee engagement calls for moving forward with our AECOM sister companies, and ending ENSR’s minority investment in RSK.”

As an AECOM company, ENSR is part of a leading global design and management company operating in 60 countries with 28,000 staff serving the transportation, facilities and environmental markets worldwide. On a global basis, AECOM’s environmental resources exceed 5500 specialists in all facets of environmental, health and safety management.

RSK will continue to provide uninterrupted services in the United Kingdom based in their Helsby headquarters with a staff of over 300 in 16 offices. It will also service clients in Europe, the Middle East, Former Soviet Union and North Africa from strategic office locations in these areas. “Having total ownership of our company will give us the operational flexibility and freedom we need to expand into the markets where our services are in increasing demand,” says Alan Ryder, Chairman of RSK Group plc.
