RSK ENSR to help raise environmental standards in RomaniaAugust 24In anticipation of Romania’s accession into the European Union, RSK ENSR Group has forged a partnership with Romanian consultants Success Consulting SRL to tap into the country’s emerging environmental market. Terms of the partnership were formally ratified on 17 August, with a public signing due to take place at the Romanian Embassy in London towards the end of September. When Romania joins the EU in January 2007, it is estimated that 4.6 billion euros will be dedicated to environmental programmes as the country is obligated to bring its infrastructure in line with EU requirements. Success Consulting SRL was formed specifically to provide guidance to public authorities ahead of the imminent structural revamp, and will be well placed to help RSK ENSR garner business in the environmental sector. “There is an enormous opportunity in the market. RSK ENSR is a global company with the capability to take advantage of that, and make a major contribution to Romania’s environmental enhancements”. said Andre Vreman, Managing Director of the European Integration Network (EIN), the strategy and development business that identified and facilitated the partnership. “Together with Success Consulting SRL, we have established a highly competent, ethical and well connected team”. The venture will be spearheaded by Andrew Glass, who has considerable experience in setting up joint ventures, having previously done so in the Baltic States, Brazil, Denmark, Dubai and Hong Kong. Mr Glass’s background also includes senior director experience with “Fortune 500” companies (as head of European operations), and working at CEO / Managing Director level for start-up, small and medium-size companies. Over the next three years, RSK ENSR hopes to generate a turnover of £10 million from its Romanian operations. With 12 tenders totalling 20 million euros in the pipeline, Glass sees the target as achievable. “Romania is not just looking for whatever it can get its hands on in terms of these kinds of services”, he says. “They can afford to be selective and choose the best so they can move forward as quickly as possible. RSK ENSR hopes to contribute to that by bringing its environmental performance up to scratch wherever possible”. Note to editors
