RSK ENSR Group establishes Corporate Social Responsibility divisionApril 10RSK ENSR has addressed the growing need of businesses to demonstrate corporate responsibility by forming its own corporate social responsibility (CSR) division. Operating from a new central Manchester location, the team will feed into RSK ENSR’s extensive environmental consultancy services and offer expertise in supply chain management, sustainable construction, social performance, and sustainability appraisal. “Sustainability is no longer the sole remit of NGO campaigners, it is on the agenda of national and international policy makers, planners, investors and is cascading down supply chains, presenting risks and opportunities in all sectors,” said Senior Consultant and nominated CSR team leader, Dr. Speirs. “Businesses need to be able to understand and respond to these stakeholder expectations at all levels of their operations – both corporate and at the coalface. Our approach is to translate corporate CSR ideals into practical solutions to enable our clients to manage commercial projects more efficiently and improve overall performance. Over the past 10 years, Dr. Speirs has helped a range of clients with CSR strategy, management systems, sustainability appraisal, supply chain management, human rights and socio-economic assessments. Recently she has assisted a leading US retail giant improve its supply chain sustainability across thousands of Chinese suppliers by developing audit protocol tools to help save energy and limit waste production. Prior to joining RSK ENSR, Lucy worked for Shell (UK) and Business for Social Responsibility (US). “I am delighted that Dr. Speirs has agreed to take on this new and exciting role,” said Managing Director, Alan Ryder. “Many of our clients are placing greater importance on conforming to set CRS standards and RSK ENSR is keen to support them in this increasingly important business area.” Note to editors
