| RSK Group helps launch groundbreaking pro bono low carbon scheme |
20 May
Coordinated by leading law firm Travers Smith, Leapfrog aims to help businesses, organisations and entrepreneurs realise low-carbon and clean technology projects. Once Leapfrog’s partners have identified a deserving project or initiative, it will mobiles to offer an array of relevant, and otherwise inaccessible support services, such as project management, legal and technical advice, branding, marketing, risk management and insurance advice, and assistance in unlocking funding. In addition to RSK Group, other organisations expressing interest in contributing to the voluntary scheme include HSBC, The City of London, Cooperative Bank, UK Environmental Law Association and Good Energy. RSK Group executive director Garry Charnock said: “Leapfrog can help people realise carbon reduction and clean technology projects that might otherwise have been compromised by lack of legal, financial and technical expertise. It is a hugely exciting scheme and one that will not only help make crucial projects happen, but also help bolster the participants’ corporate responsibility credentials.” RSK Group is providing brand and communications advice and may also offer technical assistance to appropriate projects. Leapfrog has already been asked to support projects as varied as Ashton Hayes Going Carbon Neutral (aiming to created the UK’s first carbon neutral village) and Solar Aid’s bid to introduce solar panels to rural Malawi to end a reliance on expensive, inefficient and harmful kerosene for lightning.
