RSK Cevre Hizmetleri (RSK Environmental Services) AS will seek to built on RSK Group’s solid four-year track record in Turkey, including providing extensive services to an ongoing master services agreement held with BP Remediation Management. Based in Ankara, the new company is a joint venture between RSK Group (70%) and local waste management specialist SAHA Environmental Management (30%). With RSK Group widely regarded as one of Europe’s most competent and respected environmental consultants in the oil and gas sector, RSK Cevre Hizmetleri will hope to secure significant work resulting from European and US Governments increasingly turning to energy supply routes that incorporate the Black Sea. Notable prospects include the 3,300km Nabucco pipeline (which will run from Erzurum in Turkey via Bulgaria, Romania and Hungary to Baumgarten an der March in Austria). RSK Cevre Hizmetleri is expected to complement other RSK Group projects in the region, such as RSK Environment’s continued support of the Baku–Tblisi–Ceyhan (ongoing since 2001) and White Stream pipelines, as well as numerous existing projects in Romania. RSK Group executive director Paul Upton said: Our objectives are to create a multidisciplinary centre of excellence providing turnkey support and solutions to industry and commercial enterprises across Turkey and to provide the Turkish government with a point of reference for cost-effective, best-practice environmental management. The combination of SAHA’s contacts, regulatory knowhow and waste management skills with RSK specialist knowledge, experience and technology should enable RSK Cevre Hizmetleri to stay one step ahead of local competitors.” Notes for editorsFor more information or to set up an interview, contact Neil Jaques (njaques@rsk.co.uk, +44 (0)141 332 8440/+44 (0) 7969797871).
