RSK also advanced in other key areas of business: notably, environmental management and compliance where it climbed rapidly from 13th to 4th place. Other areas of improvement are environmental liabilities, risks and hazards; regulated industries; extractive, manufacturing and processing clients; and financial and service sectors clients.
Environmental, health and safety director Sarah Mogford comments, “I am delighted to see the improvements in environmental management and compliance and also in environmental liabilities. We have worked hard over the last year to improve our profile in these areas and grow from our traditional clients. It seems that the message about our delivery capabilities in these services is getting out there.”
Environmental Analyst said in summary: “The UK environmental consultancy market saw a 5.6% increase to stand at £1.42 billion in 2013, according to Environment Analyst’s latest UK Market Assessment Final Data report published at the end of last year. The findings – which are based on a complete set of FY2013/14 figures from the Top 34 players and replace the earlier preliminary data (Environment Analyst 18-Sep-14) – represent the third successive year of positive growth, cementing the continued post-recession ‘bounce back’ of the sector.”
RSK deputy chairman Peter Witherington says, “In the UK, the strengthening economy, the boom in the property industry and major infrastructure projects such as Mersey Gateway and HS2 are creating growth opportunities. As a result, we are seeing very strong performance across most of our businesses. It is very heartening to see that we have retained our number-one slot in contaminated land. Our continuing success comes down to the strength of the relationships developed with our clients through the commitment, hard work and technical competence of our teams.”
