Ecological mitigation schemes
Ecological mitigation schemes are often developed as part of the planning process and to comply with wildlife legislation later in the development process. RSK has the expertise and experience to create sensible, realistic mitigation schemes that comply with wildlife legislation and planning policies, adhere to best practice guidelines, and meet the requirements of the local planning authority and the client.
We can produce detailed ecological mitigation proposals that avoid, mitigate or compensate for the negative effects that your development may have on wildlife:
- Avoidance can be achieved by adjusting the development or altering the timing of work so that the site is undisturbed at sensitive times.
- Mitigation measures aim to reduce adverse impacts on the site during development.
- Compensation plans are applicable where avoidance or mitigation measures are impossible or insufficient.
