Geographic information systems (GIS)

Most sustainable development decisions require cooperation and discussions between diverse professionals and stakeholders from different backgrounds and disciplines. GIS technology provides a powerful tool for storage and analysis of multidisciplinary spatial and statistical data that can help to establish communication between stakeholders. This approach also facilitates the integration of databases from different sectors and disciplines in a common format, structure and map projection.

RSK has considerable experience in applying GIS methods to ecological and wider environmental issues, and has found that these methods deliver significant benefits during decision making and planning.
