Botanical surveys
Botanical surveys are key steps in evaluating habitats and are especially important for environmental impact assessments and conservation management.
RSK specialises in plant identification and vegetation surveys. Vegetation surveys require excellent plant identification skills, and our botanists achieve this through constant practice and training. These skills ensure scientifically robust data, minimise the risk of missing rare plants and enhance the cost-effectiveness of surveys.
On this foundation, we have built expertise in National Vegetation Classification (NVC) surveys and a wide range of specialist surveys, including
- Hedgerow surveys
- River corridor surveys
- Ditch surveys
- Botanical monitoring
- Rare plant surveys
- Bryophyte and lichen surveys
- Detailed, one-off surveys for scientific and commercial purposes, for example, for fine-tuning of pipeline routing and detailed analysis using multivariate statistics
- University lecturing and teaching.
