Earthworks and slope engineering
Assessing slope stability is critical for the successful delivery of a development or infrastructure project partly or wholly on sloping ground.
From project feasibility stage through detailed design and construction to operational assets, RSK provides services tailored to clients’ requirements:
- Screening studies are particularly pertinent at the feasibility and early planning stages for linear infrastructure routes. These studies provide a generic landslide hazard rating based on published information.
- Scoping studies establish the zones within the project area potentially at risk from landslides and provide a preliminary appraisal of the likely number, type and scale of such landslides.
- Site investigations aim to establish general site geomorphology, geology and hydrogeology, and provide specific geotechnical design information.
- Slope engineering involves the design and implementation of slope stability solutions in rock, soil and mixed geology slopes that take into account overall project requirements and constraints, and factor in special circumstances such as earthquake loadings.
