As RSK’s technical lead for non-aqueous phase liquids (NAPL) and a specialist in quantitative risk assessment, Anna will be presenting a case study entitled “Better understanding and conceptualising the subsurface to implement effective and justifiable groundwater remedial solutions of NAPL”. Anna has worked as a hydrogeologist in contaminated land for more than 18 years and is a committee member of the Geological Society of London Contaminated Land Specialist Group.
Anna’s presentation will feature RSK’s highly commended work at a major gasworks site in the north of the UK and highlight the data that were collected and the problems that were encountered and how they were solved. The session will provide technical guidance on determining what information is necessary to get suitable outputs for decision making; developing robust conceptual site models that support and justify risk assessment decisions; and emphasising a line of evidence approach to justify remediation decisions.
The popular annual event will bring together local councils, consultancies, researchers and government agencies from across the groundwater industry and will feature 12 specialist presentations and interactive question-and-answer sessions.
