RSK’s Lisa Cookson, Lucy Thomas, Emma Hobbs, Laura Aspinall and Gemma Rushton completed as many 10-km laps as possible and ensured that one runner remained on the course at all times. Despite their blisters, lots of limping and the lack of sleep, the team completed an excellent 18 laps.
The aptly named ‘That Hill’ section of the course, each lap having a 215-m ascent
“We all came away feeling really proud of what we had achieved,” said geoenvironmental consultant Lisa Cookson. “The event itself was really well organised and had a very friendly and inclusive atmosphere. We would recommend it to anyone looking to complete an endurance event.”
The team raised an excellent total of £358, which will be donated to WaterAid. It is hoped that this will help to fund a school hand-washing facility and a family toilet for those without clean water and proper sanitation facilities.
Well done ladies!
