There were 36 teams in with a chance of winning the main tournament cup or the plate competition, depending on their final positions in the group stage. The top three teams in each group went on to contest the cup and the bottom three teams played for the plate, both in a traditional football knockout format.
The event at the Goals Eltham venue was a short distance from the Berkeley Homes East Thames Kidbrooke development, for which LDE have had both structural and civil design input.
During the group stage, the RSK team finished second in the group by winning three, drawing one and losing one in some closely fought games. Unfortunately, even with a favourable second round tie, they did not progress to the quarterfinal stage.
The winner of the cup was the Vital Energy team, who were presented with trophies and a crate of beer each! In total, £52,800 was raised for Demelza. This will be a very valuable donation to a cause that provides compassionate and expert care for babies, children, young people and their families.
