Jade started with Structural Soils as an office junior, having seen an advert in the Bristol Evening Post in 1998 after completing her A levels and not knowing what to do for her degree subject. She hoped this ‘gap year’ would give her some office experience and some time to think about what direction in life to take. At this time, the company was located in Lower Park Row in central Bristol with about 50 staff.
During Jade’s time at Lower Park Row, she was promoted to receptionist and assisted with the accounts. She was also instrumental in relocating Structural Soils to the Old School in Bristol, where it is now based. Jade continued into the accounts and credit control departments. In 2012, she moved into a sales and marketing role arranging trade shows, awards ceremonies and a very successful drilling day. In 2013, Jade became a mum and on her return to the office she was promoted to senior administrator and was responsible for wages, expenses and accounts. In 2016, she was promoted to office manager and is now responsible for Structural Soils’ administration team and the Old School building. She also was a driving force in arranging the company’s 50th year celebrations.
“It’s fantastic that we can celebrate this achievement with Jade,” says Steven Mackereth, managing director of Structural Soils. “Twenty years’ service is a considerable milestone that not many people achieve in their working lives. Jade has very much grown up with the company and her influence has no doubt helped shape Structural Soils into the successful enterprise we are. She has added great value. We wish Jade and her family all the best and thank her for her commitment and dedication over so many years. Here’s to the next 20!”
