The roadmap (available on the gov.uk website) provides a clear introduction to the legislative framework, regulations and best practices that apply during the exploration and appraisal phases of unconventional gas operations. Delivered as an interactive online presentation, the roadmap will be updated and amended as UK legislation for unconventional gas projects develops and matures.
Sue Sljivic, director, RSK, says, “This will help companies that are seeking to exploit unconventional gas resources by guiding them through the planning and permitting processes. It will also serve as a simple guide for planning authorities and environmental regulators that need to apply the regulations and legislation that relate to onshore gas operations. Given the high level of interest surrounding hydraulic fracturing, the roadmap may also be of interest to members of the public.”
