Site assessment and controlled waters DQRA

In 2010, working closely with the local authority and the Environment Agency, RSK undertook a groundwater investigation of a site previously occupied by an electroplating works. Records indicated that several illegal discharges had occurred on-site and that the housekeeping of drummed chemicals, liquid wastes and unbunded bulk-storage facilities was poor.

RSK overcame various challenges on-site to produce a detailed quantitative groundwater risk assessment that confirmed the site was not affecting the public supply well and groundwater remediation was not required, thereby saving the client hundreds of thousands of pounds in remedial costs.
