Glencoe river survey

As part of an ongoing flood model improvement project, RSK was asked as part of a topographical service framework agreement with the Scottish Environment Protection Agency to survey a large section of the River Coe near Glencoe Village.

The client required cross-section illustrations that cut through the river and floodplain and showed any obstructions to flow such as bridges, culverts and riverbed type. Our survey team picked up 30 sections and surveyed the up- and downstream faces and several bridges and culverts. The data was processed by laying section locations over background mapping and exported to AutoCAD. Section data was supplied ready to be imported into the client’s 2D modelling software.
