Currently, all petrol stations in Poland must undertake annual groundwater monitoring events or sampling to comply with Polish legislation. However, RSK recognises that annual sampling is an ineffective means of preventing fuel leakage into the groundwater, as by then it is too late: it is not a preventive measure, as the law suggests.
RSK is campaigning on behalf of its clients to have the existing legislation updated, which will help to reduce operating costs for petrol stations. We have already been successful at the local authority level and have achieved cost savings for one large client.
