The laboratory has been offering soil classification tests for Structural Soils and RSK clients since it opened in December 2015, but can now accept work orders that require laboratory accreditation. This laboratory, which is in addition to those in Castleford, Bristol and Hemel Hempstead, will increase Structural Soils’ laboratory capacity and capabilities in the South East.
Associate laboratory director Dimitris Xirouchakis comments, “We are very pleased that Structural Soils’ fourth laboratory is now officially accredited by UKAS for a range of soil classification tests. As part of a multi-site laboratory, Tonbridge will offer testing tailored to the geology of South East England and be a hub for the expanding site testing service that Structural Soils offers.”
Richard Ashby, with 18 years of experience in the Bristol and Hemel Hempstead laboratories under his belt, will manage the Tonbridge laboratory. He adds, “The new laboratory will give us greater geographical coverage and enable us to take on more work in the South East. Just south of London and with excellent motorway access, the Tonbridge office was the perfect place to set up.”
