The conference covered many aspects of Kurdistan’s relatively new petroleum industry with particular focus on the region’s interest and need for foreign investment, maximising local infrastructure ambitions and the challenges of regional conflict. Key ministers and officials from the Kurdistan Regional Government, the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Iraqi federal government attended and spoke during the event, along with representatives of companies working in the region, including ExxonMobil, Chevron, Gazprom Neft, DNO ASA and Genel Energy. During breaks, attendees visited the exhibition hall where they had the opportunity to talk to the RSK team on its impressive stand.
“The conference was a good opportunity to network with key figures and decision makers in Kurdistan’s oil and gas industry and to get RSK’s name out there,” an RSK representative commented. “We also gained a lot of new information on the current opportunities and challenges that we and other international companies face in the region. I’m hoping that the contacts we have made are potential opportunities for RSK to work in Kurdistan and expand our regional presence.”
